I spotted this interpretive panel at the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park.
It's a great way to get a lot of information out there without it being visually overwhelming. Visitors can flip panels (vertically mounted, three-sided) to see various aspects of the area map over time. I especially like how they incorporated historic images as callouts in the map.
